What a glorious sight. Re. the Under Review status, I would imagine that there may be two reviews, one for the western migration and one for the eastern. Thanks for your research, Craig.

Thanks Betsy. The status review is a Federal review under the ESA (endangered species act), overseen by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, so it does not differentiate between eastern and western Monarchs.The status review is to determine whether to put the Monarch on the "Threatened" species list. This is a level below the "Endangered" species list.
